By July of 2013, China broadband subscribers have increased to about 183 million and the optical fiber broadband households have increased to 31.6 million. The coverage of optical fiber access network become more than 100 million households.  While the global broadband subscribers have exceeded 648 million, of which, 128 million subscribers are FTTx users.

In 2012, Chinese optical fiber consumption was about 116 million km. By the end of 2012, Chinese total optical fiber cable length installed has increased to 14.91 million km, The total optical fiber length installed has increased to more than 600 million km. In 2012, the global optical fiber consumption was about 236 million km. By the end of 2012, the global optical fiber length installed has increased to 1.8 billion km.
